The Fundació Antoni Tàpies collection consists mostly of the works donated by Antoni and Teresa Tàpies. There are some exceptions, such as Ocre i gris sobre marró (Ochre and grey on brown, 1962), donated by David K. Anderson, or the ceramic panel Trespeus (Tripod, 1985), installed on the Foundation terrace, donated by Daniel Lelong. Every year Antoni and Teresa Tàpies donate a new work, which keeps the collection constantly growing.
This exhibition included works from different periods that illustrate the evolution of typologies, techniques and materials used by Tàpies: a series of drawings from the forties and sixties, papers and cardboards from the sixties and seventies, and paintings from the fifties to the present, and a set of refractory clay sculptures from the eighties.
The selection also included the work Home anatòmic (Anatomic man, 2002), the 2003 donation by Antoni and Teresa Tàpies to the Foundation, which had not previously been exhibited.
