The Museu Tàpies will be closed on August 26 due to maintenance works. Sorry for the inconvenience.
An activity for children over two sessions to discover the architecture and the stories behind two iconic buildings in Barcelona: Casa Vicens, by Antoni Gaudí, and the old Montaner y Simón publishing house, by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, currently the Fundació Antoni Tàpies.
· First session: Casa Vicens Gaudí – 28.12. 2021
You will visit the building and learn how the carnation tiles that decorate the façade are made. Guided by the master craftsman Manel Diestre, you will make a tile using the traditional stencilling technique.
· Second session: Fundació Antoni Tàpies (formerly the Montaner y Simón publishing house) – 04.01.2022 (Postponed to January 23)
Following in the footsteps of Francesc Simón’s granddaughter, after visiting the building you will play ‘table shuffling’, a game of cutting and pasting photographs, drawings and letters to make collages. Using reproductions from illustrated magazines from the publishing house, you will decorate a box to keep the tile that you made in Casa Vicens.
