After the group walk round Montjuïc cemetery led by Dora García, social producer Mescladís will be presenting issue 8 of the magazine Convit/e, Kintsugi, devoted entirely to the project Extramural: Timelines / resurrection.

Setting out from the Japanese practice of kintsugi —which repairs broken pottery while making the fractures visible— this issue of Convit/e reflects upon absences, memory and ways of reconstructing what is lost. This approach enters into a direct dialogue with the questions raised during the visit to the cemetery led by the artist in the morning, and also during the seminar Death and Resistance held this week: How do we construct collective memory? Which stories and which bodies do we remember? And how can absences continue to generate meaning in the present?

In this respect, Convit/e expands and extends the exploration begun in Extramural using a different medium, that of a publication. Thus, Martín Habiague, director of Mescladís, and Dora García will be presenting the latest edition of the magazine and explaining the direct link with the artistic project pursued by the Museu Tàpies. After this, Frau Diamanda and Diego Marchante will have an open discussion of some of the texts, images and ideas that struck them.

The event will continue with Taste and Art, a gastronomic offering by Mescladís, which will turn the themes of the magazine into a shared experience around the table. The day will also include the Convit/e Contest, a participatory activity revolving around ways of recording, reconstructing and meeting up again, as well as Mexican food, a market of works of art and Dj set by Frau Diamanda and Dj live music by Sabina MX.
