The exhibition of the French film-maker, writer and photographer Chris Marker (Neuilly-sur-Seine, 1921) consisted of a season of films made between 1962 and 1996, and three installations produced by him over the last decade: Zapping Zone (1990-1997), Immemory (1997) and Roseware (1998), a work in progress done with Laurence Rassel.

Marker is an essential and inimitable figure in post-war European cinema. His film essays take a critical look at the social and political reality of the present and the past from a subjective position which is, at times, distant in time and space. His latest installations are a return to and an updating of his archive of images – which is also ours – and an approach to the cinema as the supreme memory of the 20th century.
