The Museu Tàpies hosts the presentation of The treasure map written by Alba Puig and illustrated by Àgata Gil, the book was recently published by Mediterrània in their Palomitas de Arte collection. The event will feature the author and illustrator, who will discuss the book’s creation process and their approach to the world of Antoni Tàpies.
A piece of paper with an X drawn on it seems to indicate the existence of a treasure. But what if things aren’t exactly what they seem? Based on this premise, The treasure map invites children to discover that the same image can give rise to multiple interpretations and that imagination is an essential tool for looking at the world.
Inspired by the work Ochre and blue stains, an Antoni Tàpies’s 1972 work, this story introduces young children to contemporary art through a narrative that fosters curiosity, creativity, and observation. The book is part of the collection Crispetes d’Art, a series of picture books that introduce children to the work of prominent artists through fiction and play.
