Editorial Montaner y Simón. A Publishing House with History. Dynamic visit

Dynamic visit to the building of the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, built by Lluís Domènech i Montaner at the end of the nineteenth century. This building exemplifies the transition from an eclectic architecture typical of the nineteenth century to a new style, Modernisme. It is also one of the few surviving examples of a way of building that has long since disappeared. The activity pays special attention to the original function of the building as the site of Editorial Montaner y Simón – a pioneer publishing house in Spain, known as much for the volume of its production as for the quality of its publications – and to some of the literary personalities who worked there, such as Pere Calders, Jesús Moncada and Josep Soler Vidal.
